Ubuntu was a company formed to offer accommodation to tourists during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The brief was to design a logo representing Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a Zulu word roughly translating to "human kindness". It is an idea from the South African region which means literally "human-ness", and is often translated as "humanity toward others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity".
The solution was to use bright colours found in the South African flag and have stylised people holding hands to form a circle around a football, representing Ubuntu. The logo is bright, fun and eye-catching.
